Meet Judge Clary

Judge Clary has devoted his career to the law and to public service. He currently serves on the Eighth District Court of Appeals and has worked throughout the justice system — in private practice, as a prosecutor, as a public defender, and on the trial bench. That broad experience gives Tim a balanced perspective and the background, range of knowledge, compassion and temperament required of a judge.

Judge Clary has served the public and the legal system from multiple vantage points. Over the course of his career, he has worked in private practice, served as a prosecutor, represented clients as a public defender, served on the Common Pleas bench, and now serves on the Eighth District Court of Appeals. That range of experience gives Tim a practical understanding of how the justice system affects people, families, and communities — and of the seriousness of every decision a judge makes.

Rooted in Cuyahoga County
Tim’s commitment to public service is grounded in deep local roots. He grew up in Bay Village, attended St. Ignatius High School, and graduated from John Carroll University. He remains committed to serving the community he calls home. Alongside his legal career, Tim has also been involved in civic and volunteer life, reflecting a belief that service extends beyond the courtroom.
